Sort the services your new home needs.
Start by checking which services are already available at the new address and which accounts need to be opened, transferred or closed. Allow extra time if the property is newly built, has been vacant or requires a technician appointment.
Keep confirmation numbers and activation dates with your other moving information. Before leaving the old property, follow your provider’s instructions for final readings, account closure and equipment returns.
Gas
Check whether the new property uses gas and whether access or an appointment may be needed to establish the service.
Internet
Check connection availability and arrange equipment or installation ahead of time, particularly if you work from home.
